Geoffrey J. Farwell is a trust and estate litigator with over ten years of experience in complex probate matters. His practice covers trust, estate, and inheritance disputes, including trust contests, financial elder abuse actions, contested conservatorships, accountings, shareholder disputes, and claims of breach of fiduciary duty.
He has assisted clients through every phase of litigation, from pleadings and discovery to trial preparation and appeals, including briefing and oral arguments before the California Court of Appeal. In addition to litigation, he has prepared and advised on a range of estate planning and business governance matters.
Geoff was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2022 and 2023. He contributed to the Probate Attorneys of San Diego Probate Handbook (2019–2021) and served on the Executive Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law Section.
He earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Climate and Energy Law, and also holds a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Redlands.
Outside of work, Geoff participates in mentorship and professional development within the legal community and helps families and fiduciaries navigate challenging and sensitive disputes.
